    Dwarf False Indigo (Baptisia minor)
    Legume Family
Ideal for smaller spaces, this compact Baptisia reaches a maximum height and width of 2 feet, making it a perfect choice for tight garden spots. Its trifoliate, blue-green leaves provide rich texture on sturdy stems, whether planted singly or in groups. After blooming, pea-like seed pods mature slowly, inflating and transitioning to a striking metallic gray. This Baptisia thrives in full sun to partial shade and tolerates a wide array of soil types, including rocky and dry. Once established, it is highly drought-tolerant. Though Baptisias take 3-4 years to fully mature and make their mark in the garden, they become a robust, long-lasting addition once established, requiring little to no care.
