    Wild Blue Phlox is a showy, fragrant, and evergreen wildflower that makes an excellent addition to the woodland garden. Sky-blue flowers start blooming in April for about 3-4 weeks. Flowers have tubular throats that make them a favorite early nectar source for hummingbirds, butterflies & moths, and long tongue bees. Evergreen leaves with red, sticky stems tightly hug the ground. Roots will form at leaf nodes that touch the ground. Spreads at a moderate rate through underground growth and seed. This phlox is happiest in part to full shade in average to moist rich soils. Makes an excellent companion plant to species that tend to go dormant in the summer. Also looks great with Eastern Columbine, Ferns, and Green & Gold.
