Mountain Bush Honeysuckle is a deciduous shrub native to the southeastern US, mainly in higher elevations in the mountains. This hardy plant has clusters of tubular, yellow to yellow-orange flowers that bloom in midsummer, attracting a variety of pollinators, especially bumblebees. Broad leaves turn an attractive shades of yellow and red in the fall, adding seasonal interest to gardens. It thrives in a range of soil types, including dry, rocky soils, and is particularly valued for its adaptability to varying light conditions, from full sun to partial shade. It spreads by suckering at a moderate rate and will form a low hedge over time.
