Snow Flurry White Heath Aster (Symphyotrichum ericoides 'Snow Flurry')
Aster Family
This is a truly stunning groundcover that deserves a space in more pollinator gardens. It’s ground hugging stems slowly creep out from the overwintering basal rosette to form a dense mat of tiny, dark green leaves. In late summer, small white blooms are packed in all over the stems, giving it the look of a snowy carpet. The numerous, late summer blooms attract all kinds of pollinators in a time of reduced floral sources. Plant in full sun where it won’t be crowded out by larger plants. It is very drought and rocky soil tolerant. It looks particularly nice if able to drape over rocks or a garden wall–also looks nice in pots.
