    This native Spiraea is a small, deciduous, suckering shrub in the rose family. It produces dense clusters of rich pink flowers in late summers. It is naturally found in bogs and wet meadows. Wet to consistently moist soil and lots of sun are needed for a happy plant. Its spreading nature makes it great for erosion control in wet areas. In the winter, the exfoliated, red-ish bark can be seed and adds great interest to the winter landscape. Plant with native grasses and sedges, blue cardinal flower, or a native hibiscus.
    Blooms: Pink, 3-4 weeks, July-Sept.
