Robin's Plantain ( Erigeron pulchellus)
Aster FamilyVery pale purple to white flowers begin blooming in North Carolina in mid-April. Flowers rise up 6-12” above the foliage and resemble small daisies. While the flowers are nice, the large, very fuzzy, evergreen leaves are the star of the show. Leaves are up to 5” long and form dense mats flush to the ground. It makes an ideal groundcover for average to dry areas that receive 3-4 hours of sun. Plants spread by rhizomes and will form small colonies over time. It is not considered aggressive.
