Rose Verbena (Glandularia canadensis)
Verbena Family
Rose Verbena is a long blooming, sprawling wildflower that can be used as a groundcover in the toughest of environments. It tolerates lean and rocky soil in full to part sun. Plants will sprawl more in shade and rich soils. Does well in rock gardens, containers and hanging baskets where it can trail over. The pinkish-purple blooms appear in clusters, with the main bloom period being late spring. Plants will continue to bloom into fall, especially with dead heading. This is considered to be a short lived perennial but will spread casually by seed and by colonial growth.
