    Carolina Ponysfoot (Dichondra carolinensis)
    Bindweed Family

This is a creeping, evergreen groundcover that will thrive in most garden conditions. Part sun in moist soils will provide rapid growth, but will readily grow in average soil. It can only be planted in full sun if soil is consistently moist. Dense mats, flush to the ground are excellent at suppressing weed growth while providing soil protection at the same time. This would make an ideal candidate for lawn replacement. Can be highly aggressive in ideal situations and is considered invasive in some states.
