    Threadleaf Coreopsis (Coreopsis verticillata)

     This Coreopsis is one of our smaller species, reaching an average height of 2'. Bright yellow blooms are numerous and long lasting, often blooming for several months in the summer. Finely divided, needle-like foliage creates a delicate appearance that adds plenty of texture to the garden. It prefers full to part sun and poor soil. Rich soil will cause plants to grow taller and promote flopping. it attracts a wide variety of pollinators, including many specialist bees that only feed on Coreopsis sp. Pairs well with Blue Mist Flower, Purple Coneflower, Butterfly Milkweed, and Blue-eyed Grass.
