    Parlin’s Pussytoes (Antennaria parlinii)
    Aster Family

Parlin's Pussytoes, is an adaptable, low-maintenance, evergreen groundcover. Standing between 6 to 12 inches tall, this plant forms a neat rosette of narrow leaves covered in fine, silvery hairs. In late spring to early summer, it produces clusters of small, fluffy white or pale pink flowers that resemble cat paws. It can grow in a wide variety of garden conditions, including extra tough spots. It can be planted in rock gardens, on slopes for erosion control, as border or filler plant in the garden, or as part of a lawn replacement. It will spread fairly fast by sending out runners to form new basal rosettes. Leaves turn a dark purple/brown in the winter before flushing out with soft green growth in the spring. It is the host plant of the American Lady Butterfly.
