White Wood Aster (Eurybia divaricata)
Aster Family
One of the best plants for the shade garden. Deep green leaves on crimson red stems look attractive and lush all year long. Small white flowers that bloom in early fall produce an abundance of pollen and nectar for a variety of pollinators. This is a moderately fast spreading plant that will tolerate shade to part sun and is very drought tolerant once established. If the flowering stems become too floppy in your site, try cutting them back by half by June.
