    Wild Basil (Clinopodium vulgare)
    Mint Family

Wild Basil features small, tubular flowers ranging in color from pale pink to purple, and aromatic, ovate leaves that have a distinctive, spicy fragrance reminiscent of basil. This plant thrives in various soil and sun conditions, and makes an excellent groundcover in hard to grow situations. Aromatic foliage makes it highly resistant to damage from deer and rabbit. It is not overly aggressive like some mints, but does spread readily.
