Rattlesnake Master (Eryngium yuccifolium)
Carrot FamilyThis visually striking plant can reach up to 5’ tall and 4’ wide if healthy and happy. The globe shaped flowers are a unique white-blue that bloom and bloom. They are a favorite of wasps and are known in general to be a top pollinator plant. This is one you really should plant in full sun as the heavy flowering stalks are prone to flopping. Planting in lean soil will also help prevent this. Tolerates dry to moist soil. Use as a specimen plant, or if you have room, try planting several together for a pollinator-palooza. Looks great with grasses, purple coneflowers, and blazing stars.
