Blue Mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum)
Aster FamilyPale blue, hazy flowers start blooming in late summer and can continue until the first frost. Purplish stems contrast nicely with rich green leaves–cuts in half well to produce bushier growth if desired. It’s a pollinator garden must have, with the strong caveat that it has room to run. This is one of the most aggressively spreading plants when conditions are favorable. Dry shade might be the only thing to keep it in check. Blue mistflower looks great in both sunny meadow gardens and at woodlands edge.
